Unique rule based system to enhance eBilling Signature Server

AuthentiDate allows individual and customer-friendly process-management for automated invoice dispatch
and receipt
Duesseldorf - August 27, 2008
Signature specialist AuthentiDate has released an upgrade of functions of the eBilling Signature Server that has been market-tested for many years now. A number of new features allow dispatch and receipt of electronic signed invoices to be highly flexible and user-friendly.
The outstanding innovation is a unique rule based software design which is completely one-of-the-kind in the market. It enables the legally compliant and at the same time individual dispatch of electronic signed invoices.
Larger companies and service providers particularly benefit from this function.
In 2001 AuthentiDate launched eBilling Signature Server, a mass-signature server that is compliant with the law. Since then, it has been implemented successfully at a number of companies nationally and internationally, including Dow Chemical, GEZ, METRO Group/MIAG C.V., John Deere, Robert Bosch, SABIC, T-Systems, VW Financial Services, W.R. Grace and many more.
Companies of virtually any size and industrial sector opt for AuthentiDate signature products – hence several hundred billion electronic documents and invoices are signed and verified each year in accordance with the law by AuthentiDate signature products.
The new functions facilitate the automatic process-management and offer significant advantages in particular for international invoicing. The following describes some distinctive functions:
Systematic selection of signature cards via different parameters
Thanks to a unique software design, any single signature card can be selected via parameters (e.g. serial number, signature-card issuer or owner). As a result specific signature cards may be used for particular invoices. By this means, pseudonyms and attributes can be used and thus a user-friendly and individual process can be generated. This allows attractive business models especially for services providers.
In addition, signature cards can be selected for each country. This function is especially advantageous for international eBilling.
Systematic selection of algorithms for signature creation
So far, the same algorithms have been used for all signature cards. That is, for signature cards used in Europe (e.g. TeleSec signature card) the same algorithms as for signature cards especially legally permitted in Switzerland. Since July 1st, 2008 use of the SHA-2 algorithm is compulsory according to the German Signature Law. This is neither legally mandatory nor technically possible for Swiss signature cards. Therefore, with the new version of the eBilling Signature Server, the algorithm is selected with regards to the signature card. The selection is effected automatically for any country (and signature card respec-tively) via parameters.
Support of the D-Trust signature card
If requested, signature cards of D-Trust can also be used for signature creation next to cards of TeleSec- and Swisscom.
Next to the eBilling Signature Server, also the products for signature verification like e.g. the Signature Check Server and the webservice www.signature-check.com have been upgraded with corresponding functions.
